Brought me his not working laptop – wifi offline, slow to boot / startup. Laptop repaired a loose circuit board inside – required a dismantle. It had the standard PC MOT Service – boot time 1:30 – not bad for an older machine.

Out it goes another working PC. I take pride in breather life back into older machines. Why doe they need to be replace ( land filling the old one ) when you can save Earths precious minerals and metals by using PC MOT how green is that !

Brought me his laptop, 10 mins to load. Operating system slow are barely usable. It was in desperate need of PC MOT + a full service.

The disk was such a mess it could not even be backed up. Unfortunately his filesystem corrupted during optimisation – this was due to a physical error with his disk.

Using special tools his files were recovered, a new disk inserted and the operating system was rebuilt and optimised. His personal data was reloaded and his laptop now boots in < 50 seconds.

An overall great win for Alan, not so great for me as it took a week to complete.

Brought me her laptop, it was in a very poor state, Windows update service had broken – no updates for a year, it had virus’s and malware.

These issues were all fixed, all updates were applied virus removed.

Optimise Vista on a PC – This turned out to be a big one, but I promised I would help and so I Did.

Backup, Re-Laid out disk, Loaded new Vista as the old one was an attempted upgrade which failed. Loaded Vista, Applications and transferred personal files, Music, Pictures, favourites and configured all his applications.

loaded virus scanner, all windows updates and optimised PC for booting.

Job took a week to complete !

Phoned with Video Recorder and TV setup issues. This was with regard to the recoding and playback of TV channels on Video Tape.

I gave him some free advice and told him if his issues carried on I would be happy to come out at my standard fee of £50.

Andy from Ipswich brought me a laptop with a damaged Windows XP Operating System, it was broking and his PC would not boot at all.

I backed up his laptop, virus scanned it for trojans and malware.

The recovery of his files did not take too long, I recovered all his precious video, pictures and documents.

The laptop had an intermittent hardware fault, a loose connection in the screen data lead. This unfortanatly meant it have to be written off.

His files were copied onto a new USB Disk

A second laptop was assessed for upgrade but was too old.
